I’ve been thinking about starting a #NostalgiaFridays series with some behind-the-scenes of old drafts, notes, sketches, etc.—so to kick that off (on a Saturday yes), here are four of the many drafts of The Last Watch!
First draft! (though I undergo an editing process after drafting each chapter/set of chapters I call “paper edits”, so it’s *kind of* a second draft)
The draft after my agent edits (almost exclusively word count trim), and just prior to developmental edits with my editor
ABM! (Advanced Bound Manuscript: after developmental edits but prior to copyedits)
ARC! (After copyedits, but IIRC, prior to pass pages, I think. It’s all a blur.)
