This book is what would happen if Mass Effect and the Night Watch from Game of Thrones had a baby, seasoned with a generous helping of Battlestar Galactica and a dash of the darker aspects of Star Trek. Though it begs the question: which of the characters is Jon Snow? Because I'm pretty sure Cavalon Mercer knows a whole lot more than nothing. Unless we're talking emotional intelligence. Then he definitely knows nothing.
