If you need a quick read to reach your 2022 reading goal, Sisters of the Vast Black is a super interesting novella (quick read!) about a group of spacefaring Catholic nuns traveling the galaxy to do charity work on a living spaceship (yes really) I enthusiastically recommend both it & its sequel!

So, there’s this game I play with myself that I call Bookchains in my head. It’s just coming up with weird ways to link books together by plot or characters. I try to stay away from easy stuff like “same author” or “same year published”. If I’m really on top of things, I can link them all together in a loop instead of a chain. So this particular chain is:

CYTONIC features a band of space pirates lead by a middle-aged lady, just like THE EXILED FLEET, which has a set of very sweet lesbian side characters like SISTERS OF THE VAST BLACK, which has a subplot of a living spaceship giving birth like BINTI, which has a teenage girl trying to stop a war between humans and aliens, like CYTONIC! Yay, bookchain!

(You should probably expect to see more of these from me, because work is slow right now and it gives me a lot of time to think 😆)
